Starting Sept. 15: Hudson County to close one lane of Passaic Ave. near Stewart Ave. for 5 to 6 days

Jose M. Sieira, Director of Traffic and Transportation for Hudson County, advised the Town of Kearny today that his office will be closing one lane of Passaic Ave. near Stewart Ave. for five to six working days for road repairs.

The repairs are being performed to address road damage sustained during Hurricane Ida. Beginning on September 15, Hudson County Sheriff's officers and county road officials will close only the northbound lane of Passaic Ave. and allow traffic to flow southbound. The northbound closure is expected to last three to four working days.

After completing northbound repairs, the crews will then close southbound Passaic Ave. for one to two working days to work on that side of the roadway. Northbound traffic will be open while a contractor repairs the southbound lane of travel.

In total, the county expects the partial road closure to be in place for five to six working days.
