COVID-19 Statement

An Important Message from the Kearny Office of Emergency Management:

The Town of Kearny is closely monitoring the progression of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its potential impact on our community. With an increase in both suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19 occurring within the State of New Jersey, steps are being taken to reduce the risks to our community.

We ask that you please not feel alarmed should you see emergency response personnel responding to calls wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gowns, face masks and eye protection. These precautions are in place to protect our community, our emergency response workers, and to minimize any interruption in emergency services should those personnel encounter someone infected with the COVID-19 virus.

The risk to our community is continually being evaluated based on information received from local, county, state and federal health officials. Should that risk increase, plans have been developed to keep our community safe.
