Advisory: Street Cleaning, Street Obstructions, and Recyclables in Plastic Bags

The Kearny Police Office of Emergency Management issues the following advisory in conjunction with the Department of Public Works:

* Parking enforcement related to street sweeping will resume on Monday, March 1, 2021, for Kearny Avenue only.

*It is illegal to place objects (e.g. chairs, traffic cones, trash cans) in the roadway to reserve public parking spaces. Objects placed in the street may be removed. Violators may be subject to summons-complaints for state or local violations.

*Recycling refuse left curbside will not be picked up if it is inside of plastic bags. It will be the property owner's responsibility to remove the recyclables from the bags and place them into garbage cans or similar bins.
