Gov. Murphy declares state of emergency in anticipation of winter storm
Gov. Phil Murphy has declared a state of emergency due to the impending winter storm. The state of emergency took effect at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. It will last until rescinded by the governor.
As of this writing, no travel bans have been announced; however the Kearny Police Department urges motorists to use extreme caution as snow and precipitation accumulate. Please try to avoid unnecessary travel during extreme weather conditions.
Please treat downed wires as potentially live by staying clear of them.
