The Kearny Police Office of Emergency Management issues the following advisory in conjunction with the Department of Public Works: * Parking enforcement related to street sweeping will resume on Monday, March 1, 2021, for Kearny Avenue only. *It is illegal to place objects (e.g. chairs, traffic cones, trash cans) in the roadway to reserve public parking spaces. • Starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021, the Department of Public Works will plow curb-to-curb on the entire lengths of Belgrove Drive and Midland Avenue. DPW will also plow curb-to-curb on Davis Avenue south of Midland Avenue, Elm Street north of Midland Avenue, and on Garafola Place (Depot Square). This more intensive plowing is planned to start on Belgrove Drive and then move on to the other streets throughout the day.

A State of Emergency has been declared in the State of New Jersey due to Winter Storm Orlena. Unnecessary vehicular traffic is discouraged on all roads for the duration of the storm event. Trash and recycling pickup are suspended in the Town of Kearny. They will resume on Wednesday on the regular schedule. Parking is prohibited on all snow emergency streets.
